Lessons From My Bed - Fashion & Style

• Beth Goodrham

Hello and welcome! This podcast forms part of a mini series of podcasts called "Lessons from my bed."

Several weeks ago I had an abdominal hysterectomy and as a result of that, I have spent a lot of time in my bed. I've learned a lot, not only about life in general, but about myself in terms of surrendering to things and having to be accepting of what is happening.

Although I knew I would get better, my life has been so different. I haven't been able to do any exercise, which forms a large part of who I am and what I do. There's been no cooking, no cleaning, no washing, no ironing, no food shopping, no walking.

My freedom has been massively curtailed. I felt like I'd been cut in half. There were so many things that changed that I had just had to be really accepting of. As a result of that, I've learned lots of things. So I thought what I would do is make them into a series of podcast episodes, in the hope that you might find them helpful to.

In this episode I'm sharing all that I learned about style and fashion - how I created a file of outfit ideas for inspiration to see me through the next few months and the surprising role that clothes played in my recovery. And if it helps to know, there's also talk about the upcoming trends for the season!

I hope that you enjoy it and please feel free to drop me an email at mail@bethgoodrham.com or come and find me on instagram at bethgoodrham 💗

Hi ladies. I hope that you're well, I cannot believe this is the third time that I have recorded this podcast. So I'm really hoping that it is the third and final time and that I can actually get it out to you. Now this podcast is the second episode that I've done. In a new series called lessons from my bed. Now, you may know that six weeks ago I had an abdominal hysterectomy and as a result of that, I have spent a lot of time in my bed. And I've also learned a lot, not only about life in general, but about myself in terms of surrendering to things, having to be accepting of what is going on. And I mean that not in an overly serious sense, because there are people who have really, really awful things happen to them. And I knew I would get better, but. My life has been so different. The last six weeks, I haven't been able to do any exercise, which forms a large part of who I am and what I do. No cooking, no cleaning, no washing, no ironing, no food shopping, no walking. So even just walking to places I haven't been able to do. So my freedom has been massively curtailed. I felt like I'd been cut in half. So there were so many things that changed. And I had just had to be really accepting of, and as a result of that, I've learned lots of things over the last six weeks. So I thought what I would do is make them into a series of podcast episodes. In the hope that you might find them helpful to. Now the first time I recorded this episode, I got to the end of it and thought I haven't really shared enough to help people. That's actionable, actionable steps for people. So I'm going to start off by sharing with you some of the big trends for the season. Because before I went into hospital, I headed into town. And I went round all the stores just to see what was coming through. And I shared this with the ladies inside of my style membership. If you want to know more, let me know you can come and join us. But what I did was make just a very quick list of some big, new season trends that were out there just as a starting point. Um, so I thought, you know what, I'm going to share it with the ladies on the podcast as well, because if you're struggling and thinking, oh, I don't know what I should be wearing these days. What can I reuse? What's on trend. What do I like? Where do I start here? Let me talk you through some options. So, first of all, and these are in no particular order. Slipped skirt slip skirts are a big trend. This season. I've seen them in all different colors, including brown, which my mum will be very pleased about because she likes a bit of brown and there was a really nice heavy one. In H and M actually, but there's lots of slip skirts, which can be great with boots and chunky jumpers. Striked network is literally everywhere. So if you've got some stripes lurking in your wardrobe time to dig them out. Striped blue and white shirts are a big trend largely for layering. So you might want to lay them under a crew, neck, jumper, and plain white shirt as well. Cargo trousers. So we've either got the casual ones, sort of wide leg jogging, style pants, jeans, white jeans. Khaki trousers. So with the pockets on them. So the more casual ones, but also in silky and tailored versions as well. So we'll see those. Everywhere pinstripe. So we're definitely heading back to a bit more of the corporate vibe. And I liked that you can separate them out. So if you've got pinstripe blazer, you obviously don't have to out with pinstripe trousers. We're not going back to the nineties and working girl or whatever, but actually I'm not even sure she wore pins dropped a lot in working girl. Can't quite remember now, but you know, the point I'm making. Um, so it's quite nice to do that. Juxtaposition of pinstripes. There's something quite smart with something more casual, like a pair of jeans, pinstripe, blazer. Nice. Grade Jamper para fitted blood. Trousers or some jeans. Or conversely, widely pinstripe trousers with a simple net. Chanel inspired jackets again. Lovely. Do the juxtaposition. I personally find, I don't want to be really smart top and bottom. I like to have a bit of a mix going on, but there's lots of those around. Bomber jackets. Now we're not necessarily thinking varsity with lots of. Colors logos band stripes on them, but really nice style jacket. If you haven't done one before this season could be the season to do it. Still lots of trench coats around. Nice that you can lay them up. You can put a little Patty GLA underneath them. You can put a denim jacket underneath them for some layering. So if you've got to trench coat with a bit of room in it, think about how you can work in another layer. Um, uh Uh, hoodie or something like that you can put underneath. Interesting oblique, extreme denim thing, David and Victoria Beckham in the early noughties. This caused me quite a lot of amusement in the stores. I have to say. I did quite like looking, oh, what the stores were showing together and thinking not on your flipping life. But anyway, just so you know, If that's your vibe. Go for it. This is the season to do it. Now the color palette is really neutral. There's lots of Sage cammo Bages cocky, Navy and denim is this cafe AU lait type look where your different shades of coffee colors. And I really liked this color palette because it's not too harsh. So some winters. There's just a lot of black installs or a lot of Navy. And although this kind of palette is very simple. It's, it's a really nice, soft, easily accessible color palette is really sort of gentle. That's what I like about it with the car keys and the beaches. And the Sage is a little bit of dusky pink going on in there as well, and also den in which we can include as a color because you know what I mean? Then there's also a dash of hot pink, especially Royal blue and also of centuries. So, if you think of the MNS ad campaign with Sienna Miller, They've got that bright, bright yellowy color in there. So there are pops of color as well, and none of us should ever be distracted from wearing color if that's what we love. But they're the ones that I saw the most of. Now. This was a funny one. I could not believe this. There was some very questionable bias, cut, frilly, skirts, and dresses and tops. So think coast in the early north tears, I have plenty of these things. I could not quite believe that I was seeing these things in Zara to do a double-take. And as I sit here recording this, I've got my eyes shut and my hand on my forehead, because I was like, What the flip. Where's that come from? Is that just snuck in here by mistake? So if you think shoestring straps, nylon fabric, I tell you those frilly tops. I had one from French connection. Loved it, but it was a flip to I and I totally. Shoestrings chops, nylon frills, sometimes diagonal sometimes horizontal, not always the most flattering look bias. Cut in a dress. It's a whole different ball game. Oh, they're back. Uh, if you've still got one there, lurking from the, naughties. Oh nineties, be my guest because they are all the rage this season. Then that's get to sparkle, shine and metallics silver. Silver is having a moment that are silver jeans in loads of brands. I can't even remember a time when we saw silver jeans. There might have been a pair of Bowden say, you know how they do lots of colors for jeans and trousers. You might've found sort of a metallic silvery pair there at one point. This season, they are all over the place and silver in general. So if you've got silver jewelry, silver shoes, Uh, Silva jumper sober. Stop. So we have a skirt, which I had once Sova. Is the place to be silver and metallics. And especially in the run up to Christmas, obviously there's going to be loads of them. And then when it comes to shoes, Loafers and then an extra boot. So there's Western chunky MNS have already sold out once and had to be stock. Pointy with heels trainers are always going to be a big trend, high tops. Um, converse big trends as well. So plenty of choice out there for shoes at knee-high boots, obviously. To keep you nice and warm and cozy and toasty during the winter. So that's the quick rundown of what's out and about in the stores. And actually, since I made that list, I have been back in the stores just a tiny bit, I think had been into town twice. Just very few stores that I've been into, but it's still very much along a similar theme. There's a lot. What I really like about the high street now. Is that it is starting to stock the pieces that historically we would have thought we'd have had to have paid a lot more from. So what I mean by this for example, is that they're really majoring on those key items is a big move away from fast fashion. It's meant to be catering to women, our age, more people who want to invest in pieces. They can wear year after year after year, as opposed to just one off season trends. Now I always have historically thought of the high street, not, not always, but a major part of what the high street delivered was those quick top maps each season, not saying fast fashion that you wouldn't use them in following seasons, but those quick update, just to bring your wardrobe up to date. Whereas now it's got some really, really good building blocks as well. And for example, I've had a top shop camel coat for many years now, and every winter, I think I need to update that I'll invest in. One that's a little bit more expensive. It's a bit better. Cup's going to last me a long time. And actually when I was in Zara the other day, they had some great ones that weren't expensive at all. Great for coats. Nicely cut trousers. So. I love that at the moment, you can really get some good pieces that are going to last you for many, many years. Okay. So that's where we are for this season at the moment. What I also wanted to talk to you about this episode, with it being lessons from my bed is what I learned about myself. When it came to clothes. Now I already knew that if I make a bit of an effort, I feel better about myself. I'm not saying that that works for everyone or that everyone has to do that. But I know for a fact that if I take a little bit of time to put on some nice clothes to do my hair, do my makeup, then I feel better. And so as soon as I possibly could, after my op and it definitely didn't happen in the first week. I made the effort to get showered every day. To do my hair, do my makeup and plan my outfit. Now none of this was glamorous. I'm making it sound like it was glamorous. It wasn't often if ever it didn't occur before lunchtime and sometimes it would be mid afternoon. The clothes that I was wearing were really, really soft. So ask with jogging bottoms, or I've got couple of pairs of nice hush jogging bottoms I've had for a few years. Uh, something that was soft just with a simple net and probably still with my Crocs, if I'm honest. The other thing that happened as a result of that is because Mr. G bless him. Didn't leave my side for two weeks. And he stayed at home and work from home. He became my official photographer. And I collected a bank of photos that I can use on Instagram, but it was just quite nice to have that semi accountability that, oh, now I've got a bit of energy. I'm going to put some time into my clothes and I'm going to get an outfit for the day. And it really, really. Sort of. Perked me up and cheered me up. That became one of the focuses of my day when I just really couldn't do anything else. It wasn't as if I was saying, oh, I'm not going to cook dinner tonight. I'm going to concentrate on this because I couldn't cook dinner or it wasn't, I'm not going to exercise today, or I'm not going to do something for someone else because it was just really incapacitated. But I did have the energy to walk the 10 steps into the shower. I have a quick shower, took a bit of make bond. Chuck some clothes on and get a photo taken. And I really, really enjoyed that. And the other thing that I did as part of that was I went through lots and lots and lots of websites and took screenshots. I have my favorite outfits and put them all together in a folder. So I've now got a folder. An autumn winter, lookbook of hundred and 50, 170 outfits that I really, really liked. And I remember I was doing all this whilst lying flat on my back in bed because it was just too uncomfortable to be sitting up. And I created this folder. Um, I thought, oh, this will be great to share with the ladies inside of the star membership, because if I'm finding it useful, I'm sure they'll find it useful as a reference point. So I loaded it all to Dropbox and shared it with the ladies. And now they've all got access to these 150, 170 images. And there was some articles from magazines and things that I thought they would find really, really helpful. Now the good thing about doing all of this. And having the time to do it was it enabled me to think. What I've got in my wardrobe that I could reuse. It kind of got the creative juices flowing again. When I was looking at these hundred 50 outfits, I was like, oh, I've got one of those. Or I haven't quite got that, but I've got something similar to that. Or I know. One thing I thought is I haven't got a camel gem pad really liked to have a camel jumper. Never had one love the soup soft ones from MNS 17 pounds, 50. Bob's your uncle really good fits me. Well, nice weight. And suddenly all my older Navy trousers, some of my pairs of jeans just look different with a camel jumper. There was a net. I decided I really wanted, it does. At the front and it's a hook with a little bar that goes through it. And so I searched for those. I've got one of those now and I'm at. Ah, yeah, that certainly makes things look a little bit. Better. And a. A bit more put together and then I think, okay. So I had that Reese jacket that I bought when I trained as a stylist back in 2009. I haven't worn that biker jacket for awhile. Oh, I know. I'm going to dig that out. Got a couple of new pieces from Zara, just little Chanel inspired jackets, but I can wear around the house instead of cardigans about 33 pounds each. I thought, oh, I can wear those as well. So it just got me thinking again. Here's the point to this is if you found yourself in a bit of a wardrobe funkery Sydney, you're not sure where to start. Then maybe take just a little bit of time to get some images together that you like to have a look what's in the stores to see what you've already got and just start gently putting some outfits together and creating a bank of outfits for yourself that you can refer back to. Time and again, over the upcoming season. So that you're always feeling nicely put together. And happy with what you're wearing, which I think is really key. And that is the thing that I have found so helpful. Since I've been unable to do so many things. And if I'm honest, probably. Since COVID hit. I haven't loved my clothes as much. I don't know why. I think, you know, life was difficult. We were busy. Probably the last few years have been challenging in various different ways and various different things. I've had to work around through, under, over, or deal with. Not just in relation to myself, but others. Another thing that I think had found is that my clothes were less comfortable. You know, there's always a little bit of spare room in our clothes. Ideally what I think I'd probably got to the point where that spare room didn't exist anymore. So there was less and less that I was able to wear. So I wasn't enjoying my clothes as much. Whereas now they're a little bit roomier than I'm enjoying the more. So all those things add up together. Just to have reignited my spark for fashion and putting nice outfits together. So, like I say, yes, if you've been in a little bit of a funk, then maybe take this as your motivation to do something about it and to make you feel better about yourself. If. You know, wearing nicer clothes or putting the effort in is something that impacts on how you feel. And I absolutely understand. That, that isn't the case for everybody. So that. Was another lesson from my bed. It was just, yeah, it helps me each day when there's not much else going on to put some nice outfits. Together and Maybe a bit of, a bit of energy. Coming on from that. Other lessons I learned from my dad. Whereas the result. Of reading some articles because that's one thing I could do. I read the paper. On my phone, I could just lie flat and read the paper. There are a couple of articles that I came across that really got me thinking. Now, one of them. Was actually just a little message that I sent to Karen Millen because I'd read an article about her fashion empire, and then how she lost everything. She'd obviously worked for such a long time to build up this amazing fashion empire. She'd sold it. I've made a lot of money from it and then lost everything and had had some really, really horrific times. And then we're starting from scratch again. And it seemed as though things were. Starting to move in the right direction for her. So I just popped her a little message. I was like, oh, I've read about, but read about you in the article. Sorry. You've had such a hard time, really great to see that you are picking yourself up in that life's heading in a positive direction for you. Again, I imagined to my surprise and I haven't been on Instagram. For weeks when I did go back in and look. She messaged me back. That was the lesson I learned from my bed. Oh, how lovely. Even really big. Super well-known powerful people. I lovely will take the time to message you back. So I thought, thanks, Karen. That was really lovely of you. Another article that I read and I cannot believe we are still having this discussion. It was an article about how there were certain memes on the school run, who were intimidating others by putting so much effort into their outfits each day. Now that clearly was a specific angle that was taken on what is essentially. A very, every day type of scenario. I was so shocked that we were still having this. Discussion. Because I remember it being a big thing in 2009, when I was interviewed for the daily mail. And I got so much criticism for saying that I just took a bit of time each morning. Two. To have a shower. Person Kinko's on. Do my makeup, do my hair. So much criticism along the lines of why weren't you making an organic breakfast for your children? Well, you know, it takes 30 minutes to make yourself look decent in the morning. So why people were thinking there wasn't time to make an organic breakfast, my children as well. I've got no idea, but anyway, there we go. And it seems such a bizarre conversation that people were still having because. I just thought to myself. You know, these people who have turned up at the school gates looking, however they're looking, which other people are intimidated by. How does anybody know that that is not the one hour of the day where they've managed to somehow call out of bed? Pull themselves together. Get their kids to school, put a smile on their faces before they go home. Take two it off. Get under the covers. Uh, and cry for the rest of the day. No one ever knows what is going on in anyone else's life. So for all these assumptions to be made about women by other women, I just find really, really destructive. Uh, not at all helpful whatever angle you take. I just think, how can you make something like that? Into such a negative thing, because you can either say yes, they put lots of time and effort in, and I look at them and think, oh, do you know what I like the way the tire their scarf. I'm going to try and do the same. I'm going to take a bit of inspiration from how she looks. So that's one way you can look at it. The other way is you can just think, oh, she looks nice. Great. But I'm happy with the way I look. All the other way you can look at it and his thing, I think there's a lot going on for her. And this is obviously a massive effort she makes each day just to try and hold it together. I just can't see how you can make anything like that negative or that women are still turning on women. It's crazy. As far as I'm concerned, I just don't understand it, but then there's a lot, I don't understand in life. So that was another lesson I learned or ponded from my bed. Moving on from those particular style and fashion lessons. TV programs, where there was some fashion related issues in them. So first of well, there's three, actually think I've got two on. On my list, but there's three. I'm not going to be able to remember people's names. So forgive me. The first one was the David Beckham. Documentary now. Clearly it's a well-known fact that he has OCD and I don't make light of that in any way, shape or form. It must be a horrible condition to have to live alongside, but. What I was really interested in was the way he organizes his clothes and how he folds them. And how they're perfect, but mostly his rail that he has I'm on a Sunday night, he puts out all his clothes for the week ahead. Now that's something I've tried and tested over the years and I'm going to come back to doing it now, before you roll your eyes and say yes, but you've got way too much time. Hear me out. Because. I think it serves so many purposes. First of all, it just means that you sit down and think about what it is that you're going to be doing. In the upcoming week. So it just gives you a bit of mental clarity about what's going on in your life, in the first place. The other thing that's really good about it is that it really makes you use your wardrobe. So in putting all these outfits together, if you're creating seven separate outfits, You are using everything you've got in your wardrobe, which means you're bearing your things. And it means the cost per wear goes down. You figure out more what you like, you decide whether something's still got legs or whether you need to part with it, or whether you need to add something in it. So it just allows you to be more creative. If again, you're thinking, but I don't know what I'm going to be doing for the next seven days. That doesn't matter. Just put together seven outfits that you'd like, and then they're there and ready. That I have to be in any particular order, if you don't want them to be, it could just be seven outfits you choose as you go through the week, you don't have to hang them up in any particular days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Just put seven outfits and then just choose out what you feel like wearing. It might take about half an hour, but actually it's probably half an hour. Really, really well-spent. So I thought, David, you know what, I'm going to start doing that again. And I'm going to tell other people about it too, because that might be a really good idea for them. The other thing that I've watched is the program on the supermodels. So there's a four part series on apple TV. About the supermodels and the four supermodels that they speak to our Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell. And Cindy Crawford and it's really, really interesting, but one of the saddest things. Is Linda Evangelista and the work that she had done. Too. I'm not sure what the aim of it was particularly whether it was, she just wanted some surgery on her face. I think it was the whole of her body. To lose weight potentially. And it had really nasty side effects whereby she grew. I'm sure these were her words. She grew hard fat and it couldn't be removed. And she was so depressed about the way she looked and saying no one will ever want to work with me again. And she also had breast cancer as well, which was terribly sad. But I think I've just got to the point in the last of the four episodes. Where someone is giving her some work. And I really hope that is the case because boy, she has so been through it. But anyway, the whole of that series is so interesting because there's lots of flashbacks, obviously, too, when they were younger and a point in time and I was growing up and watching them. And it goes through different periods of their lives. So it's just quite interesting to see the fashion, to see how things have changed, to see how their lives have developed, to see what they're doing now. To see, obviously there was some me too type issues in there as well. But that's a really good series for you to watch. And it may just, bring about a bit of nostalgia or see how they put coats together. So there was that. And then also I started watching the morning show and I can't remember the name of the lady who's got really cool. Short, dark hair. I she's very senior in the TV production company. No, I cannot remember anybody's names in. Actually. And she was. Was really cool clothes. But if you. you. read any of The Fashion magazines you'll know exactly who i mean which is not very helpful i'm now going to share some lessons from my bed on Outfits and pieces that i have ordered online because that is one thing you can still do whilst being in pant. My focus this year was on wide leg trousers as part of the collaboration that i do with balkin I'd ordered some of the white duck jeans with 10 sullen And i really liked them i don't think i'd really got many wide leg trousers other than some fairly old me and m ones which are I may have already mentioned And i thought yes this is going to be a really good thing for me to wear. Not such a fan fan of wearing justice and skirts in the winter i find them I don't know we can all find them just a little bit more challenging on an everyday basis i'm quite a child's just girl And i thought oh that's a quick update that i can make but i very much knew the fit that i wanted and what i wanted them to look like and i trolled, untold and trolled. And ordered And ordered and ordered and sent back and sent back and sent back The four finding the right ones So i thought what i've just shared with you the ones that i've ordered because in case you're on the lookout for some wide leg trousers these are places you might be able to look The first three pairs were from Boden. they were a Ponte fabric they were so heavy that the postman had to bring them in for me because for some reason that day I was downstairs and answered the door And started to take the package and realized it was too heavy for me right now so he brought it in for me And they'd sent me a different pair to one of the pairs that i'd ordered but they they were very nice they all went back because it was too soon at that point i was still very swollen And so they they went back but they were nice charles's now they do a couple of styles if you just go onto the Bowden website and they've often got a discount as well Uh, google wide leg trousers, you will find the style i don't think it's richmond is i think it might be a different one brompton not sure but anyway And they often do them in four different fabrics so they'll do them in ponte which i really like as a fabric like a heavy jersey with some stretching they'll do them in wall they'll do them in cord and i'll do them in velvet And i ordered some red pairs and some navy pairs and the fit was nice There were what i really wanted was fitted over the waist hips top of the thighs and then to flare out i didn't particularly want them really really backy. All the way down because it can just be too much fabric sometimes so take a look at Boden. They will our fleet but went back then i ordered a navy blue pack from mint velvet which had pleats to the tops and by virtue of the pleat There was just a bit too much fabric and the fabric was a little bit light and probably a bit too smart for what i wanted but mint velvet Good and also have different leg lengths as do Boden. can't swear on my life that those styles all came in different leg lengths but as brands as a whole they do do different labelings. Then i would get a beautiful pair from me and em, just to see Whether they were going to be the holy grail i absolutely left them They were pleated at the top but the pleats kind of went inward so they didn't add a lot of bulky fabric They were very wide but i was going to have to wear them 50 trillion times to get my money's worth i might revisit them in the sale But currently they're waiting to be sent back but me and em for wide Charles is our fabulous obviously they are more expensive so there's that whole you know cost per wear Do i left them in F am i going to wear them enough type debate that one has to have one with one south I ordered two pairs from Saara. They were huge i would have to come up And what i thought it was a navy pair pinstripe pair, but one leg was navy One leg was black which i hadn't anticipated It wasn't really clear from the photo they were so big that they went back and actually the fabric was a little bit lightweight but if you do run warmer they could be a good option i tend to run chile so i like a heavier fabric i would have to pass from m and s they were a cargo wide leg style lightweight fabric so again if you don't like the heavy Pont or will they could be good but it was a bit early still and i was just very conscious of my swelling so i didn't keep those and they were a bit creased when they're right but actually they were a good option I also ordered a pair From so sunday they were gray flannel wide leg nice just not quite right i don't know there was something that they just weren't wow enough for me but then what i did find was the styler MNS, and they were Wide Ponte, cargo trouser. so they have got the pockets on the side But i absolutely loved them they come in three like blanks And they're perfect length for me i think it's the regular i think they call it regular or standard They're the perfect length for me they come in navy black and dark green they do come up small on the way so i've gone emphasize and going emphasize the waist is bigger but the chances aren't significantly larger everywhere else which was a bit of a billy bonus And they just go with everything and they feel a bit smarter than i don't know a Jean or a dogging bottom but not so smart that you can't just wear them around the house all the time and Here is the holy grail test you can wear them until you go to bed you know some things you get to about five o'clock and thing I'm just going to take these off now They're too uncomfortable i'm going to put some jogging bottoms on not with these babies these are comfortable the whole day through so i ordered i've been ordering a few pairs to get the right size and so on but my Navy ones are in place My don't bring monitoring place and the black ones are arriving very soon they do go in and out of stock quite a lot so if they don't have your size at the moment and you think you might like pair Just keep checking back on the website the 35 pounds wide leg pant utility trousers i think they're called all wide leg punt. Cargo trousers not sure which So that's where we are on the trousers In terms of anything else that i've ordered little camel jumper from mns which i think i've already mentioned to you like i say this is the third time i've recorded this podcast episode so some of the things i'm saying i'm not sure whether i've already said it in this podcast episode or in one of the two previous ones Super soft 17 pounds 50 mns camel jumper Winner love it The red and the green ones which are subsequently ordered I sent back. I didn't love them as much and for some reason The camel and black striped one was not a soft i'm not sure it deserved its super soft title so that went back Couple of little jackets from zara which i'm sure i have already mentioned in this one which i wear around the house as card is and then one that's a bit more of a military Short going out jacket oh and a an a cropped but wide Mack, which i love might wear that today actually thinking about it cause we're going out shortly Um maybe it's all shoes but definitely charles there's definitely some nets and some little jackety what have you used a really comfortable to wear around the house um and just to keep me snuggly warm. And make me feel a little bit more put together This winter which is what it's all about i feel like i don't know this autumn winter i feel it's got some nice new things coming through i feel a bit more inspired loving creating the various look books for the ladies inside my star membership hopefully they find that a really really useful tool i know i have so i'm hoping they do too and looking forward to putting some more of those together for them so that's my ways through fashion lessons i've learned from my bed this is recorded I hope it is all not going to collapse at the last minute like the other ones have nobody's rung me during this one so that's fine. I will be back with further episodes i'm also going to do one on makeup and beauty that's the next one that i will be bringing to you more lessons from my bed on makeup and beauty And i really hope that you've enjoyed this episode thanks so much for bearing with me my brain is not quite up to speed yet i cooked my first meal the other night in six weeks and i was so behind myself in the kitchen it was unbelievable I wasn't even sure whether cooker was it's funny how you get to answer practice really quickly so normally Let me just give you a quick example and then i will go uh normally if you've got something to strain you've already got the server out. ready well I turned around from the cooker with the source but in my hand and i looked down at it and i was like what do i do with it next Oh i know i need to get the silver out or you know how has your cooking you getting the plates out ready to put the food on then what Okay Oh yeah i need plates. I was the most bizarre thing because I'm sure you'll be the same as me for the last 25 30 years we've just done it we don't even think about it with two steps ahead of ourselves in the kitchen i am definitely two steps behind at the moment But eventually i will get them sure So anyway i'll wrap this up now sending lots of love to you i hope you've had a great week and that you have a good week ahead if you've got any questions come and find me On instagram at beth Good germ.
